Okay, this isn't the most beautiful photo ever ( we are in need of a new camera).
Pictured above, is a loaf of gluten free chocolate banana bread with NO sugar added. Credit given to Elizabeth who works with my sister. This past weekend, we had Olivia and Buddy's friends, Andrew and Elizabeth, plus baby Eden who will meet the world in two months, staying at our house. Yes, our Starbucks Barista friend is wonderful. She gets on her tangins like we do. :)

The other day, we had eight cord of wood delivered to our house. My Dad keeps the wood boiler running everyday; from this, we get our heat and hot water! The boys are getting to the age were they will help him fill the stove in the morning...and before bedtime. They are such hard little workers.:)
As of right now, Dad, Joseph, Oompa(this means "grandfather" in an African language), Uncle Eric and my cousins are WAY up North hunting beautiful Maine Moose! Pray that Daddy brings home a big one to fill our freezer with!

Baby William

William around the age of two. I can't believe how fast he has grown up. WIll will be five in March!

He hasn't changed all that much:)

WIll loves his "geetar."

Does it get any cuter than this?

Listen to his raspy little voice!
(Give credit to Olivia for the wonderful hand motions;)

The view from the mission house.

Gabby and I the day our team returned to the States.

A great book to read: "At Home With the Poor" by Jean Thomas. (It takes place in Haiti).

Being surrounded by such loving people, made me feel...at home.

2008?

Our family went to "The Island" aka "Anne's Land" a few years ago. I can't get over Olivia's hair!

Brite the cow.

Joseph really enjoyed feeding the calf.

Somehow, his hand found it's way into Brite's mouth!

\

I believe this is a tried and failed attempt to ride this poor animal!!

He loves farming:)

Joseph and Dad with the newest member of the family in 2010.

Just thought that I would throw this picture of William in with one of his newest accomplishments. :)

Morning Musings

"The situations that grow me the most are those in which I feel the most helpless, but in which love compels me to keep trying."
 - Greg Boyd

Somewhere we know that without silence, words lose their meaning,
that without listening, speaking no longer heals, that without distance, closeness cannot cure.

"Faithfulness is such a rare commodity today that it has disappeared from our lexicon. So let me insert the dictionary definition: “Reliable; trusted; steady in allegiance or affection; loyal; constant.” In this day of quick divorce, loan defaults, addictive personalities, broken contracts, deadbeat dads and religious scandals, we’re surprised when somebody actually follows through and keeps their promises."

Faith is like radar that sees through the fog.

Humility is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less.

Joyful!

So I'll never have to worry about what tomorrow may bring, 'cause my faith is on solid rock, I am counting on God.
Thank you, Jesus!

My first deer. She weighed in at 114 lbs!

I miss this girl (Oscita).

Summer

It's been a  relaxing and HOT summer here in Maine. We have enjoyed going to the lake, spending time with cousins and chatting with Buddy and Olivia. There really isn't much exciting news or pictures to place here, but I'll keep you all posted:) Have a wonderful week.

One of my favorite Scriptures:
Matthew 20:28: "The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Ayiti June 2011

We just returned from Haiti. It was life changing. Our team members were either from Maine or Florida (I fear the Mainers were not used to the extreme hot weather of Cap-Haitien;) Here are a few pictures between the dates of the 13th and the 22nd:
One of our first views of Haiti.

Baby Sam and I. He lives behind the mission house with his Mom and Dad.

Gram and I at the Teachers Conference.

Some of the lovely teachers:)

He doesn't speak English, so I had to use the little Creole that I knew. Gabby helped a lot! Mersi anpil, Gabby!

Jeremiah, Dad, me, Gram, Uncle Eric and Pastor Santil at New Jerusalem Baptist Church.

Me with precious baby Amy. She was five days old in this picture. <3

Dad with cousin Joshua. He was the youngest member of the team. Infact, the youngest person that Maine Haitian Ministries has ever taken to Haiti! He is twelve years old.

In the village of Labruyere, we got to paint the womans and the little girl's nails! It was one of the highlights of the day. :)

The "Mazda", was one source of our transportation...the other was the tap taps!

Me, Dad, Mr. Harding and Pastor Rosa on our way back to Cap-Haitien.

Pastors Conference at an air conditioned 4VEH Radio Center. :)

Me with a few children from the village of Bazin. The boy in the white shirt doesn't know what to think...

Gram, me and Joshua teaching the story of baby Moses to the kids. Valdine is on the far right. She was our tranlator for a few days.

Forever Friends.

The team with the AMAZING soccer players and other little children in Bazin.

Pastor Santil (Pas), Dad and Uncle Eric on Sunday June 20, 2011.

 Beautiful girl.

Cousins <3

This truly was a "family missions trip" for us. I am in love with the people of Haiti.

I posted 20 pictures and took 433. So, I will prob. do more posts on Haiti in the months to come. I hope you enjoyed these. :)
